During the latest instalment of the popular ITV quiz show (December 18), fans had to do a double take when Russell stepped up to take on the cash builder round.
The pensions administrator from North Lanarkshire, Glasgow, shared a striking resemblance to comedian Johnny Vegas, according to viewers.

The Chase fans quickly took to Twitter in disbelief after noticing Russell looked a lot like the Lancashire comedian and actor.

Conversation amongst viewers online quickly turned to the team's performance during the final chase - with one fan branding it 'ABYSMAL!'
Russell, Carloe and Beka only managed to answer 8 questions correctly giving them a marginal head start on the chaser - bringing their total to 11 including the three automatically assigned for each player in the final.
The Chase viewers blasted the trio's efforts during the final chase with many stating they didn't stand a chance of winning against Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty.
