The Chase viewers call Bradley Walsh out as 'wrong answer' on Mischief Night accepted

The Chase fans were left rather confused after claiming but no correct answers were given to a question.

Contestants Andrew, Maitland, Hannah and Jason hoped of winning a potential prize pot worth thousands of pounds on today's show.

Up first was Maitland, a blue badge tour guide from Aberdeenshire.

Maitland had a cracking start, earning £6,000 in the cash builder.

But she would have to defeat Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan if she wanted a spot in the final.

During the head-to-head, things were neck and neck between Jenny and Maitland.

However, one question Bradley asked caused confusion amongst viewers.

The Vixen and Maitland were asked "what date does Mischief Night usually fall on?"

"Mizzy Night", as it’s known here on Merseyside is seen by pranksters as a chance to have a bit of fun at other people’s expense.

Smashing eggs, setting off fireworks, throwing toilet paper and smashing up pumpkins is seen as "coming of age" fun, by some people, and a sheer nuisance by others.

It usually falls on October 30 - the day before Halloween.

But this option wasn't given to Jenny or Maitland tonight.

Instead, they both opted for November 4 - which Bradley revealed is correct.

However, some viewers were under the assumption that Mischief Night is just on October 30.

Jennifer tweeted: "Am I the only one who associates mischief night more with Halloween than bonfire night?"

Vazzer tweeted: "Thought Mischief Night was the night before Halloween?"

And Steph wrote: "Nah I'm done with The Chase. Just been a question about what the North call 4th November.. and the answer was Mischief Night. P*** off! 30th oct is Mischief Night!"

However, in the late 19th century Mischief Night was observed on November 4 prior to Bonfire Night, in honour of Guy Fawkes.
