The Chase viewers believe quiz show 'predicted' coronavirus pandemic with answer

The Chase viewers were left wondering if the ITV quiz 'predicted' the coronavirus pandemic.

The Bradley Walsh hosted quiz had a question that seemed to echo what is happening in the UK today, with the country in lockdown and any movements out of the house has to be justified.

So viewers were left stunned at one of the questions in the second round, in which Bradley asked: "World War Two railway posters asked Is your journey really... what?"

With the correct answer being "necessary", viewers at home believed this was very close to the government message of only travelling if essential.

With the lockdown entering its second week, it could be that The Chase viewers are already showing signs of 'work from home fatigue' as they tweeted their surprise at the show's eerie prediction.

One viewer tweeted: "Is your journey really necessary... how apt."

Another wrote: "Won't be long until quiz shows start using 'during the coronavirus pandemic government advise stated... is your journey really... necessary' more like 'essential' now!"

A third tweeted: "Necessary! Does that sound familiar?"

The chaser at the time, Anne Hegerty, appeared on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday and shared an update of fellow chaser Paul Sinha, who has been rocked by a suspected bout of coronavirus.

She told the ITV breakfast show: "He's been tweeting about how he's really been quite ill for that last ten days or so.

"We're hoping he's over the worst of it now."

Paul himself said that he would sneeze on anyone that upset him.

He tweeted last week: "Although I cant be sure and i cant be tested it seems likely i have Coronavirus (sic).

"Started social distancing a few days too late. Anyone upsets me; I'll be around to sneeze in your home."

There was better news this week, with Paul tweeting: "For the first time in ten days I feel vaguely alive. I hope it’s not a trick."
