The Chase viewers baffled after hearing bizarre 'child-like' voice on show - "Did anyone else hear that?!"

Viewers tuning into last night's episode of The Chase were left baffled by a strange voice that aired on the show.

Fans took to social media to react when they heard a "child-like" voice as contestant and retired nurse, Debbie, headed back to her seat after winning £5,000.

While on her way back to her team after going up against Anne Hegerty, aka The Governess, Debbie and host Bradley Walsh's voices could be heard, as well as what some viewers believed to be a child's voice.

It was indistinct and high-pitched, but sounded like it could have been a child saying "ne na ne na".

Quick to ask if anyone else watching the show heard the voice, a number of fans flocked to Twitter.

One viewer asked: "Did anyone else hear a childlike voice speaking as Debbie went back to her seat, or was I just hearing things!!??"

A second also asked: "Does anyone else hear the child’s voice? #thechase"

"Am I the only one who heard a voice when Debbie was going back to her seat," another added.

However, one viewer suggested it could have been another contestant: "It was Emma saying 'well done' in a childlike voice."

"Really??? I’ve run it back several times now (sad I know!) but I still think it really sounded like a child," replied one of the same viewers from above.

"Why's she speaking like a child?," someone else questioned.

Another said back: "Yeah, bit creepy."

There were three players left in the final Chase against Anne.

The team set a good target of 16, but it was no match for Anne and they went home with nothing.

The Chase continues at 5pm on ITV today.
