The Chase star threatened with the sack over offensive tweet

One of the stars of The Chase has revealed she was ordered to remove an offensive tweet by ITV bosses.

Anne Hegerty was told she might face disciplinary action if she didn't remove a tweet defending former I'm A Celebrity campmate Emily Atack.

The Governess, as she is known on the hit quiz show, called a Twitter troll  "a sad c***" after he criticised Emily's appearance.

Anne stars as a Chaser on the ITV show and also presents quiz show Britain's Brightest Family.

Speaking about the incident on Lorraine, Anne said: "I have been known to get into trouble for that.

"I mean I tweeted a tweet last month, it got 25,000 likes before ITV ordered me to take it down and threatened me with suspension.

"But yeah okay fine, I took it down.
