The Chase star Jenny Ryan's savage put-down as she beats the show's first contestant

The Chase's Jenny Ryan doesn't skimp on the sass.

Jenny - nicknamed The Vixen - had a blistering response after she caught the first hopeful of the show.

Contestant Sam put up a good fight - but his knowledge proved not enough to triumph over quizzing ace Jenny.

After Sam went for the wrong answer on a music based question - and Jenny went right - The Chase theme sounded and host Bradley Walsh shook the eliminated Sam's hand.

Before he left, The Vixen took the time to explain why his answer had been wrong.

After Sam had walked off, a perky Jenny smiled: "Did you know that it's my favourite start to the show to get rid of seat one?"

"Not half!" Bradley exclaimed.

Jenny is one of five Chasers - the others are Paul "The Sinnerman" Sinha, Shaun "The Dark Destroyer" Wallace, Anne "The Governess" Hegerty, and Mark "The Beast" Labbett.

Tonight's show was a repeat, with production on new episodes halted amid coronavirus.

They stopped filming back in February after the pandemic forced production to draw to a close.

Still, fans haven't had to make do without any new content, as spin-off Beat The Chasers was filmed in January.

The show, which aired later on at night, saw contestants flex their knowledge as they wrangled with how many of the Chasers they could outmatch at once.

Bradley previously told The Sun's TV Mag back in April that he's in the dark about when filming can get going again.

He told that health and safety have to come first - but that he's keen to get back to his hosting duties.
