The Chase star Andy leaves Paul Sinha 'disgusted' at his lack of general knowledge

The Chase star Andy left viewers, chaser Paul Sinha, and his teammates speechless with his horrifying round.

The student got several questions wrong that viewers deemed "easy", and he made a baffling confession about Buzz Aldrin.

He revealed he had no idea Buzz Aldrin was a real astronaut, and that he was the inspiration for the Toy Story character Buzz Lightyear.

One viewer even tweeted that Paul looked "disgusted" at Andy, who made the audience giggle as he struggled through host Bradley Walsh's questions.

Andy passed on several questions in his quick fire round and dithered over the answers he then incorrectly guessed.

One of the questions was: “Who was the first American to take a selfie during a spacewalk?”

Andy replied: “I don’t have a clue. I think Buzz is… Buzz Lightyear.

Andy got confused as to which Buzz was real, Lightyear or Aldrin (ITV)

“I know he’s a real astronaut but...” he trailed off as his fellow contestants laughed.

The guessed Alan Shephard, and when the answer was revealed as Buzz, Bradley joked: “It was Woody that took it.”

At the end of Andy's round, one of his fellow contestants even realised she "had no words".

One viewer tweeted: "Oh my effing life!! Where did they drag this guy from? #TheChase ".

"The sinahmans look of total disgust towards Andy" remarked another.

"If Andy was your mate you’d wanna shake him .... what a plank !!! #TheChase " added a third.

Another declared: "Andy didn’t deserve to go through after his astronaut answer! He won’t be a miss in the final chase! #TheChase ".

"Buzz binking lightyear FFS #thechase " exclaimed another.

* The Chase airs on weekdays on ITV at 5pm
