The Chase's Shaun Wallace shares misery as he admits he was outsmarted by kid

The Chase star Shaun Wallace has shared his misery after admitting he was outsmarted by a kid.

Shaun, also known as The Dark Destroyer, is best known for stopping contestants from winning money on the ITV gameshow as he is so intelligent.

However this was not the case in the new Road Trip series where Shaun, 60, was up against a child prodigy and things didn't go as planned.

Although Shaun was defeated, he claims he "isn't bothered" by it.

He told Daily Star : "I started enjoying the experience and wasn't embarrassed in any way, shape or form. For me, it was about exploring intelligence and not about me being embarrassed."

The highly anticipated series will also feature appearances from his fellow Chasers Anne Hegerty and Mark Labbett, and is set to begin next week.

The group travel to the US and Japan in search for other brainboxes, including humans, animals and robots.

Shaun said to the Express : "What surprised me was how intelligent animals can be, especially if you prepare them and train them.

"As I was saying, when we looked at new intelligence found in chimpanzees and primates in general, I was surprised that they are only just a step down from us.

"If animals could communicate in a way that we could understand, it could be up there, I'm telling you," he added.

And his co-star Anne Hegerty said about the show: "We are all great mates and we are all very protective of each other, so it was good to know that if anyone was feeling stressed, we had each other."

*The Chasers Road Trip: Trains, Brains and Automobiles starts next Thursday at 9pm on ITV.
