The Chase's Shaun Wallace makes ITV history with monumental cash offer to Sarah Millican

The Chase's Shaun Wallace made show history when he made a remarkable high offer on Sunday's celebrity edition of the ITV staple.

The offer happened on a celebrity special of the show - hosted by Bradley Walsh.

Shaun Wallace, 62, - also known as the Dark Destroyer - was faced with South Shields comedian Sarah Millican, Graeme Hall, Maggie Aderin-Pocock and Ortis Deley, and by the time Sarah's turn came round - the team had already bagged £97,000.

Graeme himself managed to snatch £90,000 from the hands of the Chaser for his team to fight for in the final Chase, and while Sarah comfortably built-up £7,000 in the cash builder - she was posed with a further figure to tempt her into risking it all.

Shaun offered the comic a low offer of £3,000, the choice to play for her original total, or brave it for a cool £103,000 - which would have took the celebs' total cash pot to £200,000.

Shaun told his co-stars: "This is the highest offer I've ever made on the Celebrity Chase," leaving all in attendance completely gobsmacked. However, playing it safe Sarah took the minus offer with hopes of getting back home and dry to help out in the final Chase.

She did so successfully, and the team scrapped it out for the £100,000 total prize.

Unfortunately for the celeb brainboxes, their total score of 17 wasn't enough to keep Shaun at bay, with the Chaser catching them with 31 seconds left on the clock.
