The Chase's Paul Sinha takes swipe at contestant who slashed prize pot with minus offer

Paul Sinha told a contestant on The Chase they shouldn't have taken the minus offer after they slashed 20% of the prize pot.

Patrick, Linda, Afreena and Brian were all on the show hoping to win thousands of pounds.

Up first was 33-year-old Patrick, who impressed everyone with his £8000 cash builder.

Linda was the second contestant to face The Sinnerman after winning £7000.

She also made it through to the final, taking the prize pot up to £15,000.

Afreena wasn't able to beat Paul, leaving the team's last hopes with Brian.

Brian scored £6000 in his cash builder and was offered £60,000 by Paul.

But he shocked everyone when he opted for the minus £3000 offer, taking the team's total down to £12,000.

It soon became clear that Brian had the knowledge to beat The Sinnerman, as host Bradley Walsh told him: "You're a better player than -£3000.

"I think you've played far too cautious here Brian."

And Bradley was right as Brian made it through to the final with ease.

The Sinnerman said: "It wasn't so much that you were a good player, but you've taken 20% of the fund away which a player of your quality shouldn't be doing."

However, Paul added: "Him getting back is the right thing to do and they're now the favourite to win."
