The Chase's Paul Sinha has strong words for critics after being 'thrashed' by contestants

The Chase star Paul Sinha had some strong words for his critics after being 'thrashed' by a very good team on Tuesday night's show, telling them he's "never been sharper."

Formidable quizzer Paul, who was also back on screen in a new series of Beat The Chasers recently, was the Chaser in action on the latest episode of the hit ITV but lost out in a tense Final Chase to a very impressive duo Jordan and Pablo, who answered 15 questions correctly to scoop the £14,000 jackpot.

Taking to Twitter after the episode aired, Paul, better known to millions of viewers as The Sinnerman, said he actually answered one more question right than the team but they get a head start.

Gracious in defeat, Paul, who last year revealed he'd been diagnosed with Parkinson's, also warned those who thought his condition would hamper his quizzing abilities are in for a shock.

He posted: "Thrashed by a really good team, deserved winners. I got 16 q correct, they got 15. Just in case you think the rules are loaded for us. #thechase And anyone who thinks i'm in decline are in for a tough year's viewing."

Directly responding to one viewer, he replied: "The rules are calibrated fair. We don't have to buzz, they start on a head start and push us back."

Addressing his doubters, Paul then added: "I'm aware that every time I lose, the naysayers will gossip about reflexes.

"Every aspect of my quiz reflexes has never been sharper. Beat the Chasers was recorded after today's episode. Sometimes you have, not a bad day, a bad minute."

Fans were quick to react to Paul's posts, with one telling him: "Mr. Sinha you have no obligation to provide explanations regarding your condition.

"You are a fantastic chaser and a firm favourite in our household. Stay safe," and another tweeted: "Don't give any credence to their baseless opinions.

"First, they only see an edited version of the show.

" Second, everyone has challenges and no one deserves to be treated as less than because of them. I have not seen your performance slipping at all. Fight the good fight."
