The Chase's Mark Labbett makes surprise outburst at contestant with secret history

Mark Labbett made a surprise outburst at a contestant with a secret on tonight's The Chase.

The Beast saw straight through the professional poker player and exposed his hidden gameshow history.

When asked who he would like to face, Jon, from the Wirrall, claimed he wanted to: "Wipe the smug grin of Mark's face."

He got his wish as Mark came bounding into the studio and insisted the only thing shaking was the scaffolding as he walked across the bridge.

Mark then told the stunned audience and host Bradley Walsh that Jon was a "regular bandit".

He asked Bradley: "What do you call a golfer whose a much better player than you let on?"

When the host replied "bandit", The Beast continued: "That's him. He’s been on more TV quiz shows than I have. He’s an absolute stone cold sombrero-wearing mustachioed bandito."

Jon confessed he had "done on or two" gameshows in the past - and proved his worth by securing £9,000 in the cash builder.

When giving his low offer, Mark cheekily claimed it was "a thousand Pesos" - the currency of Mexico.

But Jon got the upper hand and took the high offer of £36,000 back to the team.

The three contestants got the last laugh as they defeated The Beast in the final chase.

Mark prompted gasps from the audience on a show last week with a similar announcement.

When the second contestant was named, The Beast revealed some secret beef in an outburst that stunned presenter Bradley Walsh.

Bradley introduced Ben but was interrupted by Mark, who gave him the 'Bandit' nickname as well.

The Beast yelled: "Next up, get your sombreros out. It's 'Ben the Bandit'.

The confused audience all gasped in shock and baffled Bradley asked: "What do you mean?"

Mark explained that Ben "has form with national quizzes" as he divulged the contestant's gameshow past.

Before the cash builder, Bradley got Ben to clarify what The Beast was going on about during their chat.

Ben said: "As Mark says I've been on a couple of quizzes. This isn't my first rodeo."
