Mark Labbett was very happy today after a contestant on The Chase made a mistake costing the team £24,000.

Angela, Helena, Robert and Dave all faced The Beast on today's show as they hoped to thousands of pounds.

Up first was Helena, a student from Middlesex desperate to go to Las Vegas.

Helena did well in the cash builder, securing £6000.

But in the head to head, The Beast offered her a staggering £30,000.

Helena said she had planned to take the high offer prior to coming on the show.

However, when she was at the table, she got cold feet and opted to keep her £6000.

But during the head to head, Helena answered every question correctly, easily making it to the final.

Bradley Walsh said Helena had 'missed an opportunity for an extra £24,000'.

However, The Beast was more than happy to have denied Helena the extra money.

Following Brad's comment, The Beast said: "It depends if you're a half-glass or half-empty person."

Mark said it was positive for the team to have the first contestant go through to the final with £6000.

But he added: "But it's £24,000 you missed and you answered every question correctly hahahah."
