The Chase's Mark Labbett explains why contestants have 'unfair advantage' on Beat The Chasers

The Chase's Mark Labbett shared the reason why contestants have "unfair advantage" on Beat The Chasers.

Contestants playing in the new format get a head start on the clock ahead of The Chasers they choose to take on in the challenge.

But The Beast, 54, explained if The Chasers would have to up the time offers to compensate.

These precious seconds could prove crucial in whether contestants take home the prize fund or not.

Mark said there was a lot of play testing and mathematical modelling which went into the new format of the show.

He said: "Yes it does. We have done a lot of play testing and mathematical modelling and if chasers went first we would up the time offers by 4-5 seconds to compensate.

Contestants choose to go up against two, three or five of The Chasers.

TV bosses let The Chasers know how much they want to offer the contestants for each of the options.

They must then make a decision on who they want to face in the challenge.

Host Bradley Walsh has returned to his presenting duties on the game show.
