The Chase's Jenny Ryan 'furious' after huge error causes £12,000 loss

The Chase's Jenny Ryan was left 'furious' with herself after a huge blunder made her lose the final chase.

Bradley Walsh welcomed four new contestants to the show in a bid to win a sum of money.

Ken, Sara and Edwin all made it through to the final after taking on The Vixen.

For the final round, the team only managed to score 16, but that didn't stop them from taking home a whopping £12,000.

With five push backs and some slip ups by Jenny, viewers were left on pins as the team secured the cash with just one point to go.

Bradley read out one of the final questions to Jenny: "How many people in total make up two quintets?"

Jenny quickly replied 'eight', before immediately regretting her answer.

The team then correctly answered 'ten'.

With just five seconds left on the clock, the team were announced the winners before Bradley could even finish the question.

Speaking after the loss, the Chaser said: "I gave that away by going on the 'qu' of quintet and I thought you were going to say 'quartet'.

"Ugh, I'm furious with myself, they earned the money with those pushbacks though."

Viewers couldn't believe the huge error, with some taking to Twitter.

One said: "Shocking effort by the chaser."

Another said: "The Vixen was let down by her maths!"

"How did Jenny get that wrong?! Oh my. She grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory" said a third.

The Chase continues weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
