The Chase's Jenny Ryan defends Paul Sinha after he's attacked by trolls

The Chase's Jenny Ryan defended Paul Sinha after he was attacked by trolls over his performance on the show.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, ITV are currently showing old repeats of The Chase.

But recently, The Sinnerman, has been hounded by negative comments regarding his status as a Chaser.

On Tuesday, he told his followers he was "too tired" due to his medication to respond to people unjustly criticising him.

He wrote: "You are all entitled to tweet how you like. But I'm not obliged to see your tweets.

"I'm not a 'snowflake' whatever that now means. I am someone whose medication reduces my energy levels to the point where I don't care for....

"'That was an awful performance on the Chase.'"

After quoting the unkind comment, he said: "If we didn't have bad days there would be no show... I also knew five years ago, the original date of this repeat."

Quoting a second insult - "You're a s*** Chaser" - he responded: "I'm the current British champion."

He added: "This thread was just a long term rather than a short term moan. I feel in general I'm well treated here."

Showing her support to Paul, Jenny replied: "My energy levels have tanked to that level too, without the aid of meds."

Fans were also behind Paul, taking to his comment section.

Alex said: "I think people treat the Chasers as if they're professional wrestlers, tangential fictionalised versions of real people who are good at quizzes and also have feelings.

"You're a fantastic quizzer and folk, hopefully the naysayers get bored sooner rather than later."

Mark wrote: "Keep doing what you’re doing, Paul. Some people are only happy bringing misery to others. They are losers and don’t deserve the energy you expend to explain yourself to them. Sad, so sad."

And Carly tweeted: "This makes me so sad. There’s just so wrong in the world. There’s so such hurt. We should be lifting each other up at times like this."
