The Chase's Darragh Ennis admits 'embarrassment' over slip-up

Darragh Ennis admitted he was 'annoyed' after slipping-up during his second appearance on The Chase.

The former contestant is best known for the trending hashtag of #justicefordarragh after he smashed his cash-builder and brought back a solid £9,000 to his team.

However, his fellow teammates opted for minus offers which depleted the prize fund to £2,700.

Last week, Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis made his debut on The Chase and successfully defeated the players.

But during his head-to-head with Rosalind yesterday, Darragh stumbled on a football question.

Bradley Walsh asked: "What was the only home nation football team to qualify for the FIFA World Cups of 1974 and 1978?”

The options were A) Northern Ireland, B) Scotland or C) Wales.

While Rosalind selected the correct answer of Scotland, The Menace chose the incorrect option of Northern Ireland.

Darragh said: "Very well done. I’m really annoyed that I let you away on a football question, it’s very embarrassing. But well played, you played really well."

The Chaser also confessed he's a huge Liverpool FC fan.

Bradley asked: "Who do you support?"

Darragh said: " Liverpool."

Bradley quipped: "Of course you do, you're from Ireland."

Viewers were amused and delighted by the exchange and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

Paul tweeted: "Darragh is a Red."
