The Chase's Bradley Walsh worried he'd 'have to shut show down' after player's remark

Bradley Walsh feared he would have to "shut the show down" after a player's remark on The Chase.

The 62-year-old presenter returned to front the first episode of the new season of the popular ITV game show today. Doug, Hannah, Sue and Rusty were the four quizzers testing their wits against Britain's smartest brains.

The players were taking on Anne Hergerty on today's show as they aimed to win a huge cash prize. The Governess started off in imperious form as she swiftly eliminated Doug in seat one.

The team fought back as Hannah impressively navigated her way past The Chaser to book her spot in the last round. Sue was up in seat three and the 57-year-old built up £4,000 in an impressive cash builder.

However, the host was in stitches after a response to a question in the cash builder. He asked: "The Japanese term Temaki refers to sushi being rolled with which body part?"

Sue responded "feet", which left Bradley in hysterics as the correct answer was "hands". He added: "Roll it with your feet? I was worried what you were gonna come out with. I've got to be honest with you.

"I was ready to shut the show down and go straight to the news." Sue put in a superb performance in the head-to-head and booked her spot in the Final Chase.

Rusty also progressed to the last round meaning three players were competing for an overall £15,000. They built up 14 steps, but were caught with 27 seconds remaining.
