The Chase host Bradley Walsh was stunned this evening as a self-described "psychic medium" claimed her talents had let her speak to a number of late A-listers.
Bradley couldn't find the words after Paula told that one appointment had put her in touch with the likes of Elvis Presley, Sammie Davis Jr and Gene Kelly.
She clearly mixes in high-profile circles after an appointment took her to Tinsel Town itself - where she says she was able to meet with the spirits of the legendary musicians and actor.#
Elvis died in 1977, Sammie in 1990 and Gene in 1996.
"I talk to dead people," she bluntly replied when Bradley asked her about herself.
"I talk to dead people. Really, properly, yes."
"Have you spoken to anyone famous?" Bradley wanted to know.
"I have, yes," said Paula, "I did a reading for a celebrity choreographer in Hollywood.
"His godfather was Gene Kelly. His dad had passed and his dad came through - and his dad's best friend was Elvis. And Sammie Davis Jr.
"While I was doing the reading, they all appeared in the room. I was supposed to be like, 'Well, this is quite normal for me', but it was amazing."
Chaser Anne Hegerty didn't seem quite so impressed, scolding her with a savage clap back.
"Talking to spirits?" an aghast Anne demanded, "You may have been drinking them?"
But Paula didn't let it put her off, managing to outrun the Chaser and winning the prize money.
Meanwhile, fans wanted to know how a psychic could be allowed on a quiz show.
"Psychic on a TV quiz show...." one tweeted, "surely that's cheating..."
Another angry viewer wrote: "[Paula] should be disqualified if she believes she's psychic. She will be having help."
Tonight's episode was a repeat, after coronavirus brought filming to a halt back in February.
There's no knowing when The Chase will get back to filming, with host Bradley remarking that they'll be many episodes behind schedule whenever they return.
