The Chase's Anne Hegerty tells player she is 'quietly disgusted' in her

Chaser Anne Hegerty laid into a contestant tonight and said she was "quietly disgusted" with her.

Gemma, 31, was third up to face The Governess and she chatted to host Bradley Walsh before battling with Anne.

The hotel receptionist lived on the Isle of Wight and described it as "paradise, just a bit colder."

In her spare time Gemma said she enjoyed shows, concerts and going to see stand-up comics.

If she won some money she said she wanted to buy a new car, after recently reversing into a wall.

Gemma scored £4,000 in her cash builder and Anne offered her a low offer of £1,000 and a high offer of £40,000.

Gemma had previously advised co ntestant Neil to 'go high' so Anne predicted she would take the £40,000 herself.

But Gemma instead said: "I did tell Neil to go high, Ben's done brilliant, I want to get back so I'm going to take the £1,000."

Bradley and Anne looked shocked and Anne said: "I'm just quietly disgusted."

And viewers at home were also very unhappy with Gemma's decision.

Sara Chesters said: "Love the "go high or go home" from Gemma and she then takes the low offer. Hopefully you'll be going home then you hypocrite!"

Max said: "Absolute snake on # TheChase telling someone to go for the high offer, getting him binned and then taking the low offer herself."

Dan Harvey said: "This woman is an utter disgrace."

And Vicky Sharp said: "First time I think I have cheered on the Chaser."

Despite going low Gemma failed to get past The Chaser and went home with nothing, leaving viewers thrilled.

*The Chase continues at 5pm on ITV tomorrow
