The Chase's Anne Hegerty shares update on love life and future relationships

The Chase's Anne Hegerty says she doesn't feel like she is "missing out on relationships".

Anne, also known as The Governess, said that single life is "brilliant" and she has no relationship plans.

She confessed that she doesn't see the point in chasing after a relationship, saying that "she's doing fine."

Speaking to the Mirror, Anne said: “I still get attracted to people, but there’s no point in pursuing it.”

She explained: “Quite apart from the fact that I’m probably not his type... I’m going to leave him very baffled and wondering what he’s done wrong. I love being isolated.

“It’s brilliant. I really don’t feel I’m missing out on relationships. I’m doing fine.”

She says friends have always complained to her about being in bad relationships and that she advises them: “Just be on your own!”

Anne knows what it’s like to be adored though.

The 62-year-old says The Chase is so popular in New Zealand, she is “worshipped like a god” whenever she goes there and added: “I can’t walk down the street in Auckland without being mobbed.”

The quiz icon is currently on two ITV shows, hosting Britain’s Brightest Celebrity Family alongside her Chase job.

Viewers may see a different side to her, as she says the Governess is “more of an act than some people think”.

Anne said: “She is modelled a little bit on my grandmother and one of my aunts. She is the me that comes out if someone makes me indignant.”

*Anne hosts Britain’s Brightest Celebrity Family, Thursdays at 8:30pm on ITV.
