The Chase's Anne Hegerty admits concerns for co-star Paul Sinha's health

The Chase star Anne Hegerty has spoken of the concern she and her fellow quiz experts have for colleague Paul Sinha amid his ongoing health battle.

Anne, better know to viewers as her alter ego The Governess, is back on screens this week for a new series of Beat the Chasers.

Appearing on Loose Women to publicise the show, which sees contestants go up against a full line-up of Chasers including The Governess as well as The Beast, The Vixen, The Dark Destroyer and The Sinnerman, she admitted her worries about her co-star.

The Chronicle Live reports during her interview, she revealed she is especially close to The Beast, real name Mark Labbett, telling the panel: "We do speak at least a couple of times a week, we are just good mates.

"I am godmother to his kid, if one of us is upset about something, the other one will sort of check in and say, ‘Are you okay?’

"We’re very sort of mutually supportive but there is a sense in which all the Chasers are very mutually supportive."

Anne then proceeded to detail the Chasers' shared concern for Paul, who revealed he'd been diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2019, saying: "We are concerned about Paul’s health, for example, and making sure everyone is okay."

Announcing his diagnosis in June 2019, Paul tweeted: "I have Parkinson's disease.

"I will fight this with every breath I have."
