The Chase player wipes The Beast's smug look off his face

An player on Friday's The Chase managed to wipe a smug look off Chaser Mark Labbett's face.

Players Vicky, Sammy, Romer and Simon went up against the chaser in tonight's episode in the hopes of walking away with a cash prize.

The Beast was feeling confident in himself as he boasted about getting only one question wrong by the time he faced second player Romer.

Mark looked super proud of himself and smiled smugly as he said: "I've only got one wrong so far and youngest player is back in the hutch - happy me."

But the smugness wouldn't last as he was yet to face Sammy.

The 40-year-old escape room manager had a decent cash builder round, answering a total of seven questions correctly.

But, for some reason, she didn't feel over confident and decided to opt for a middle offer of £7,000.

She managed to wipe the smug look off the chaser's face as she answered a King Lear question correctly, and he answered incorrectly.

Fans loved it as they commented on Twitter.

Lois said: "Sammy was not taking any prisoners then."

Daniel said: "AND HE GOT A QUESTION WRONG! #TheChase"

Another user said: "Hopefully Sammy knocks that smug look off the beasts face."

Sammy got through the round victorious, and realised after playing that she probably could have won the higher offer of £44,000.

But still smiling, she made her way back to the bench to join her team mates.

Last to play was Vicky, a carer for her daughter, from the Valleys in South Wales.

She also got the better of the chaser, as she played for a middle offer of £8,000 and beat him at the final hurdle, returning to the team.

This meant that three players were in the final, playing for a jackpot of £20,000.

They had a decent builder round meaning that the chaser had to answer 15 questions correctly within two minutes in order to beat the team.

He managed to beat them with 42 seconds remaining meaning that the team went home with nothing.

*The Chase is on ITV on weekdays at 5pm
