The Chase Mark Labbett praised for bending show rules for player

The Chase's Mark Labbett has been praised for a kind and considerate gesture on the ITV show.

Viewers praised Mark, who is also known as "The Beast", as he went head to head with a particular contestant.

Dave, Louis, Annah and Rachel tested their wits against the chaser, in a bid to win big, but he felt that partially sighted player Annah was at a disadvantage.

When playing against her, to level the playing field, he decided to close his eyes whilst answering his set of questions so he wasn't able to read them and had to rely on them being read out like she did.

Annah went on to impress viewers at home as she bagged £7,000 in the cash builder, adding it to the group's total.

Fans of the show took to Twitter to show their admiration for the chaser's kind gesture.

Ronny said: "OMG!!! #Mark Labbett (aka #theBeast ) bending the rules a little on #theChase for a partially visually-impaired contestant! What an absolute sweetheart! Super kind gesture!"

Andrew said: "@MarkLabbett not looking at the questions against Annah. Touch of class. #thechase."

Ross said: "Love that @MarkLabbett was keeping his eyes closed for Annah’s questions - making it a level playing field with consummate respect and integrity shown by The Beast. #TheChase."

Toby said: "The beat is closing his eyes #thechase."

Annah and her teammates Rachel and Dave even managed to beat The Beast in the final, taking home £15,000 between them.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and ITV Hub
