The Chase launches lockdown quiz series - and fans are ecstatic

The Chase has launched a special lockdown quiz series online - and fans could not be happier.

Titled The Chase Extra, viewers can take on a Chaser from the comfort of their own home and put their quiz knowledge to the test.

Each episode is around 15-minutes long and can be viewed online across social media, either on Facebook, Instagram or YouTube, the Daily Star reports.

A new episode goes live at 6pm each day and will continue over the next two weeks.

Fans are asked to answer 10 questions and record their answers on a scorecard.

Each of the mini-episodes is presented just like the real thing, just minus Bradley Walsh and the snazzy ITV studio.

Jenny "The Vixen" Ryan has already shot three episodes and next week fans will get the chance to take on Shaun "The Dark Destroyer" Wallace.

Production on The Chase stopped in February so this lockdown version of the show could be a satisfying substitute until filming resumes.

Host Bradley Walsh admitted last month The Chase is "behind schedule" as a result of the lockdown and said the crew was "lucky" it had filmed the special series Beat The Chasers, otherwise there would be no new episodes to air.

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm.

The Chase Extra goes live at 6pm on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
