The Chase host Bradley Walsh flustered as Anne Hegerty calls him out for 'cheating'

The Chase's Bradley Walsh became flustered as Anne Hegerty called him out for 'cheating'.

The ITV quiz show host was back to front the show on Thursday night with 'The Governess' taking on four new contestants.

But Bradley got himself in a bit of a pickle and almost on the wrong side of Anne after she accused of deliberately emphasising a word in the question to give the player a hint of the correct answer.

Players Cally, Julie, Sam and Robin were in the hot seat but it was during Cally's round that Bradley was being particularly useful.

Bradley asked: "A 2018 set of stamps featuring which London palace depicts the 'Pond Gardens', 'Great Fountain Gardens', and 'Maze'?

He seemingly emphasised the word "maze" and gave a gesture which was bound to convince Cally that it was the answer to go for.

After offering the options of Lambeth Palace,Hampton Court Palace, and Kensington Palace, Bradley said: "This helps you out if you're from London, of course. You've put Hampton Court Palace."

Cally replied: "Yes, I know there's a maze there, so..."

As the answer was revealed to be correct, Bradley said: "Yep, absolutely, yep, well played."

But his hint didn't pass Anne by commenting: "I love extremely the subtle way you went 'MAZE'", while mimicking Bradley leaning over to Cally, "Just to make sure she knew it."

Bradley protested: "I didn't!"

"Yes you did," replied Anne.

A flustered Bradders said: "I didn't do that! I didn't do that, I do not do that, I didn't do that did I? Did you hear me do that?"

But viewers were backing Anne on this one.

"You did, Bradley! #maze #TheChase," wrote one.

Another said: "Brad did say maze a tiny bit harder than the other words but don’t think he was emphasising it specifically, just watched it back. #TheChase."
