The Chase host Bradley Walsh could not believe his eyes when he realised ABBA were playing in the quizzing show - almost.
The four players were Jill, 54, a compliance officer from Barnsley, Beorn, 40, a traffic operator from Ipswich, Benny, 28, an insurance broker from London, and Annie, 49, a yoga teacher from Cornwall.
Their names bore a striking resemblance to Swedish pop group ABBA's members - Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad.
First up was Jill, who revealed she was a huge fan of the band: "Bradley, I am such a big ABBA fan, I watched them in the Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton in 1974, I wasn't there, I watched them on the TV," she said.
Laughing, Bradley replied: "Well so did I!"
Jill continued: "But I did see them live in 1979 in the Wembley area!"
After earning £6,000 in her cash builder round, Jill then faced the Chaser, who was Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan.
As she arrived, Jenny said: "Hello dancing queen Jill, you're an ABBA superfan and here you are performing with Annie, Benny and Beorn, it's a dream come true.
"Now let's find out if it's going to be money money money, or if you're going to need to send out an SOS."
Turning around to read the players' names, Bradley stammered "I wondered why your na- Yeah, oh God!" he exclaimed, holding his face in his hands.
"I have got to get a grip on my life, I missed that completely, again.
"I am too busy concentrating on other stuff going on okay, like stuff. Jill have you watched this show before?"
Jill replied: "Many times."
Bradley joked: "Okay, can you tell me what I do next?"
One viewer tweeted: "Beorn and benny? Is this an ABBA tribute band? # Thechase " while another wrote: "I do like that on a team with an ABBA fan, her teammates were Benny and Beorn # TheChase ".
"How many ABBA references can be squeezed into an hour episode # TheChase ," wondered a third.
