The Chase has been commissioned for 500 more episodes

Bradley Walsh has confirmed that The Chase will be on our screens for a long time to come, as it has been commissioned for hundreds of new episodes.

The game show, which is one of the most-loved daytime TV programmes in the UK, has been on our screens since 2009.

With Walsh as the lovable host, the show regularly attracts up to 5 million viewers, watching as audiences trying to win money by besting the Chasers.

It has also been revealed that The Chase is set for several spin-offs, including Beat The Chasers and Are You Smarter Than A Chaser?, which will see the quizzers take on children and AI robots in intellectual contests.

In an interview with The Sun , Bradley Walsh confirmed the news about new episodes. He said: "We’ve just signed a two-year agreement to do another 500 episodes but the concept was pure luck."

He also talked about the infamous bouts of giggles he regularly gets on the show.

"I have stopped [filming] for a good four, five minutes where I can’t get it together," he says.

"There was a saucy question and I found it funny and one of the guys said, ‘Look Brad you’ve got to stop laughing’ and the other guy said, ‘Why don’t you leave it in?’ — and they started adding in questions that made me laugh."

Chasers Mark 'The Beast' Labbett, Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace, Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty, Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha, and Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan will all be remaining on the show for the next two years.

But they'll also be joined by a brand new Chaser.

Bradley has previously suggested there could be more than one new quiz master joining the ranks.

He told  Radio Times  : "We're making more and more shows all the time. So we need to recruit more people all the time.

"So consequently, we have put our feelers out to find other people that will be suitable, and all will be revealed next year."
