The Chase fans raise eyebrows at The Beast's crude question to actress contestant

The Chase viewers were left both giggling and cringing this evening as Chaser Mark Labbett posed a wince-inducingly awkward question.

Contestant Vicki, an actress taking on Mark - nicknamed The Beast - nearly made it to home but a slip up meant she was caught by Mark.

He admired her optimism having had a crack for a prize of £7000.

After Vicki was caught, Mark said to host Bradley Walsh: "As you know, if you're a young actor or actress, it's a tough life.

"Where else are you going to make that sort of money in an hour?"

An imaginative bunch of viewers took to Twitter to laugh about the question.

One tweeted: "Where can an actress make that sort of money is an hour? Did he just ask that? #thechase."

Another laughed: "Where else is she going to make that sort of money in an hour? Does The Beast REALLY want an answer to that question? #thechase."

A third shared The Beast's quote, alongside a gif of Mr Bean winking.

The Chase is currently airing repeats amid the coronavirus crisis after production was brought to a grinding halt in February.

Brad's unsure of when it will be back, telling The Sun's TV Mag : "We stopped filming The Chase back in February, so I'd say we're about 100 shows behind schedule, which we'll need to make up.

"I've got absolutely no idea what is going to happen. We can't say we'll be back to work in a month, eight weeks - no one knows."

Meanwhile, fans have been treated to knew material after the later-airing Beat The Chasers - filmed in January - hit telly screens recently.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm.
