The Chase fans praise The Beast's heartwarming gesture to partially blind contestant

The Chase viewers have praised the heartwarming gesture made by The Beast as he took on a partially blind contestant.

Mark Labbett - also known as The Beast - took on four new chasers on a recent episode of the ITV quiz show, but viewers were most taken aback by a sweet gesture he made as he went head to head with a particular contestant.

In order to allow both him and contestant Annah to have a level playing field, he decided to close his eyes whilst answering his set of questions so he wasn't able to read them and had to rely on them being read out like she did.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "@MarkLabbett not looking at the questions against Annah. Touch of class."

"@MarkLabbett was keeping his eyes closed for Annah’s questions - making it a level playing field with consummate respect and integrity shown by The Beast," another added, whilst a third commented: "The beast is closing his eyes."

Annah impressed viewers at home as she bagged £7,000 in the cash builder, adding it to the group's total.

"How Annah just cruised through that I will never know. Unbelievable," one The Chase fan wrote online.

Another shared: "Well done for getting the Rig Vedas question right, Annah - not many people know much about Hinduism."

Annah and her teammates Rachel and Dave even managed to beat The Beast in the final, taking home £15,000 between them.

It comes after host Bradley Walsh was left in hysterics with a "comedy gold" question on The Chase, which read: "What animal was reportedly used to lay cables around Buckingham Palace for the broadcast of Charles and Diana's wedding?"

He couldn't stop laughing and had to stop filming multiple times whilst he composed himself.

Remarking on the question later, he said: "It just gets better and better. That is comedy gold, that is comedy gold. That is absolutely comedy gold. That is without a doubt a show on its own that question."
