The Chase fans were left stunned tonight as a contestant confirmed a key fact about himself.
Communications Executive Max from Hertfordshire appeared on the show to go against The Governess herself - Anne Hegerty.
Max said he was a bit of a couch potato and enjoyed watching films - with his favourite film ever being Airplane.
He said he wanted to travel to America, to continue with his quest to visit every state, with his total visited so far being 34.
But fans were stunned as Max told Bradley he was 23 - with viewers taking to twitter to say they thought he was actually much older.
One said: "Max 23 going on 33."
Another said: "Max 23? Think he’s lost his birth certificate."
A third said: "He's never only 23."
And a fourth added: "When did 23 year-olds start looking so old? Max on The Chase is 23 but he looks 40. When I was 23 I looked about 9"
Max scored £8,000 in his cash builder , but decided to go for the big money and played for £30,000.
Sadly Max was knocked out by The Chaser - after he lost to Anne on a Shakespeare question.
