The Chase fans in disbelief at contestant's strange answer

A Chase contestant left viewers stunned tonight as he gave a very strange answer to one of his cash builder questions.

Politics and history graduate Lee chatted to host Bradley Walsh before going up against The Sinnerman, Paul Sinha who was tonight's Chaser.

Lee, 24, said that he wanted to pursue a career in cyber espionage, but away from work he was a massive football fan and supported Rangers and Tottenham.

If he won some cash Lee said he wanted to use the money to put a deposit on a flat.

Bradley then moved to ask him some cash builder questions, before his head to head with The Sinnerman.

Bradley asked him: "What word can mean a vase for storing ashes or a vessel for making tea?"

Lee was quick to answer: "kettle" when the correct answer was of course an urn.

And following his error many viewers took to social media to comment on it.

Sierra Charlie said: "Where's Grandad? In the kettle."

@misslionheart said: "Who's putting ashes in a kettle?"

Kayleigh said: "When I die, I want my ashes to be stored in a kettle."

Steve Lowe said: "KETTLE?"

And C said: "I shall store these ashes in a kettle, and only a kettle will do."

Lee managed to score £6,000 in his cash builder and decided to play for that as he went up against The Chaser.

But he failed to get past The Sinnerman and went home with nothing.

*The Chase continues at 5pm on ITV tomorrow
