The Chase fans hail 'karma' as contestant who took low offer faces final round alone

There's nothing that viewers of The Chase hate more than someone taking a low offer (just take a glance at Twitter ).

But when one contestant's choice to do just that blew up in his face this evening, fans branded the moment "karma" as he played for £1,000 all by himself against the Chaser in the final.

A terrifying prospect for anyone.

Tonight, Aaron was up first as he took on the Sinnerman and decided to go low, taking just £1,000 on the table.

But what he hadn't bet on was the rest of his teammates - Anne, Susan and Joe - being knocked out, meaning that he had to rely on himself in the Final Chase.

Yet ruthless viewers had little sympathy for Aaron, who unsurprisingly lost against the Chaser, and flocked to Twitter to comment.

Sharing a screengrab of Aaron's horrified face, one wrote: "LMFAO! ROFL!"

While another joked with a meme of someone laughing hysterically: "Very good luck to Aaron #thechase."

A third quipped: "Aaron trying to win his low offer £1k .....? #TheChase."

"Backfired spectacularly," one commented.

Another remarked: "WOO HOO!!! The nation erupts in utter Joy, low offer boys tactics have blown up in his face spectacularly, what a day to be alive #TheChase."

Another joked: "Your Prayers have been Answered everyone #thechase."

*The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV
