The Chase fans fuming after ITV make last minute change to episode for bizarre reason

The Chase fans were left fuming tonight after ITV made a last minute change to the advertised episode.

Viewers tuning in tonight expected to be met with a repeat episode of the normal show , but instead were presented with a re-run of a celebrity episode.

Celebrity episodes of The Chase are generally loathed by loyal chaselings - but tonight's was especially hated by viewers, because of the celebs who featured on it.

Jenny McApline, Iain Lee and Shappi Khorsandi appeared on the show alongside Stanley Johnson - father of Boris Johnson, who was today named as Tory leader and is set to become the next Prime Minister.

Stanley appeared on I'm A Celebrity.....Get Me Out of Here where he rose to fame, but the Chase fans were fuming to see him on today's show, just because his son had been made PM.

Stanley further enraged viewers by continually to tell his fellow contestants to take the low offer from Chaser Jenny Ryan - The Vixen.

And they took to Twitter in their droves to show their displeasure at his inclusion, for such a bizarre reason.

One said: "What the hell? ITV has changed the advertised edition of #TheChase to include Boris Johnson’s 'celebrity' dad. At least I’ve got no reason not to get on with doing the tea. *click*"

Another joked: "Tonight's ITV News at 6 will be presented by Boris's sister."

A third said: " #thechase can well and truly FO today. Stanley Johnson is as big a tool as his son. Why would anyone choose to watch him voluntarily."

A fourth added: "Have @ITV really just changed the #TheChase episode to a repeat of the I'm a Celeb special featuring #BorisJohnson dad, just because of today's result? LOL."

And a fifth said: "Oh look, the new prime ministers daddy is on a celebrity #TheChase repeat. What have we done to deserve this?"

*The Chase continues at 5pm on ITV tomorrow
