The Chase fans couldn't believe what they were seeing on the latest installment of the quiz show.
The ITV programme, fronted by Bradley Walsh, was back on screens on Tuesday afternoon and featured the 'best contestant ever,' according to viewers.
Contestant Marryk made a big impression with The Chase fans after racking up £10,000 in his cash builder round.
Fans were floored by his quizzing knowledge but when it came to facing Anne Hegerty, or The Governess as she is known on the show, things didn't go quite to plan.
Marryk opted to stick with the cash he had earned, disregarding the higher offer of £50,000 and lower offer of £3,000.
But sadly, Marryk was no challenge for Anne and was sent home empty handed after three incorrect answers.
And fans were shocked by the result.
" did the best cash-builder I've seen in years - and got some total chokers in the head-to-head," tweeted one.
Another said: "Marryk absolutely stitched with the questions there #TheChase."
"Well they certainly dug out the stinker questions for Marryk #TheChase," a third added.
A fourth just commented: "Omg i cant believe this. Marryk!"
