The Chase fans double-take as guest sounds identical to Kirk from Coronation Street

The Chase viewers were forced to double-take during Wednesday’s episode, after believing Coronation Street ’s Kirk Sutherland was on the ITV gameshow.

Contestant Amir appeared on the series, but as he opened his mouth to introduce himself fans couldn’t believe what they heard.

They were left wondering if Corrie actor Andy Whyment was competing, only to realise it was Amir talking.

Host Bradley Walsh was quick to quiz him over his voice, which sounded identical to the soap favourite.

Taking to Twitter , fans shared their own confusion over the bizarre scenario.

Many even claimed they were convinced Kirk was on the show due to the huge similarity in their voices.

This was echoed by another fan who said: “Just tuned in, f**k me you guys are right, he does sound like Kirk.”

Unfortunately for Kirk, we mean Amir, he was unlucky when facing the Chaser Paul Sinha and was booted off the show.

The Chase continues weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
