The Chase fans blast contestant over 'blatant' error - "Clue's in the question"

Viewers tuning in to last night's instalment of The Chase were left unimpressed by one contestant's incorrect answer.

A number of fans took to social media to react, with some baffled as to how the hopeful could get the answer wrong, insisting that the 'clue was in the question'.

It comes as four players Liam, Rachel, Kojo and Sue went head to head against quizmaster Jenny Ryan, aka the Vixen, in a bid to take home the cash prize.

First up to battle against Jenny was Sue who managed to get a decent £7,000 in the cash-builder round.

Following behind was Kojo, who admitted to his team mates how 'disappointed' he was after only achieving £3,000.

Next in line was Liam, who ploughed through with £5,000 in the pot to give the team a boost later for the final quick-fire round.

Last up was Rachel, who returned to her team with the money she gathered up during her performance in the cash-builder round.

But she didn't manage it without making a couple of mistakes along the way, including the very first question host Bradley Walsh asked her.

"The Devon and Cornwall Longwool is a breed of what farm animal?" He asked.

To which she quickly replied back: "pig."

Unsurprisingly, fans watching from home were quick to take to Twitter after the blunder.

One viewer wrote: "Yeah - pig. That notoriously woolly animal.... #thechase"

"Longwool...’ answers sheep. Clue’s in the question... #thechase." Another insisted.

A third joked: "A woolly pig? #thechase"

"Long wool, what animal. Pig Off to a flyer there love #TheChase." A third laughed.

Someone else put: "Long wool"... It could only be #TheChase"
