The Chase fans are not happy with a contestant's latest faux pas

Contestants on The Chase don't just have to face the Chaser, they all have to face the wrath of viewers at home if they mess it up.

And a player's latest faux pas has wound up some fans of the ITV quiz show.

Wednesday night's offering saw Rachel, Liam, Kojo and Sue on The Chase and their bid to try and outdo "The Vixen" Ryan.

While all the contestants managed to get back for the final charge with £16,300 all to play for, it was one of the player's earlier decisions that got to some viewers.

Singer Kojo had quite a successful cash builder, managing to rack up £3,000 to face The Vixen with.

He ignored his teams advice (ITV)

The 23-year-old, who told host Bradley Walsh that he wanted to buy a black Corsa with any winnings he may get.

But before going head to head with Jenny, Kojo was offered a low offer of £300, a high offer of £33,000 or he could stick with the £3,000 he had earned himself.

The team encouraged him to stick with the middle offer and get back to help them in the final round - but then came the killer blow.

"I don't like the low offer but I'm going to go for the £300," he said.

The team didn't look too happy (ITV)

While Jenny said: "I think the team should support you in that decision," they didn't look particularly impressed and fans were also annoyed.

"He's let us down, let the team down but worst of all, he's let himself down," tweeted one.

Another said: "£300. Come on fella."

"I've managed to find one Vauxhall Corsa that Kojo can afford with his £300 on #TheChase," a third joked alongside a screengrab of a car up for sale for £250.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
