The Chase eagle-eyed viewers applaud cleverly placed contestant names on ITV show

Viewers of tonight's The Chase were quick to notice an impressive connection between the four contestants thanks to clever placement on the panel.

On tonight's show, Bradley Walsh was joined by four hopeful contestants that were hoping to beat The Vixen for a shot at winning a small fortune.

At the start of the show, the contestants introduced themselves as Alistair, 24, Fred, 52, Rodger, 52, Ginger, 32.

However, it took a while before the presenter Bradley noticed any obvious connection.

While Alistair was gearing up to face The Vixen, the penny dropped for the ITV presenter that their names spelled out that of two very famous movie stars: Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire.

The Chase panelists were also in stitches (ITV)

"Oh! Hang on. Hang on everyone," Bradley cried out.

"Hold the line caller. I've got it. Ginger, Rodger, Fred, Alistair, wow!" Bradley yelled, as the audience giggled.

Of course viewers were also loving the cleverly placed name order, and credited the producers with being highly creative.

The penny finally dropped for Bradley Walsh (ITV)

"Someone has a good sense of humour..#TheChase," wrote one viewer.

"Oh, for f***'s sake! An hour of people tweeting pictures of the contestants' names! Pouting face #TheChase," joked another.

A third wrote: "Love it when #thechase gets creative with the team names."

Another viewer praised Bradley for finally putting two and two together, writing: "Well done brad, you’re awake #TheChase."

The Vixen cheered when Bradley Walsh noticed the connection (ITV)

After having a good old giggle about the name placement, the contestants went on to play a highly impressive game against Jenny Ryan.

Incredibly, Alistair, Fred and Ginger managed to get to the final and even out ran the chaser with 20 correct answers.
