The Chase contestant wants horse named after Bradley Walsh in New Year episode

Let's bring out the Chaser!

TV funnyman and actor Bradley Walsh is back to present an all-new instalment of ITV game show The Chase as a new batch of contestants will take on the dreaded Chasers.

The new instalment will air at 5pm on New Year's Day on ITV and ITV Hub, but what does the episode have in store and is it a celebrity special?

Actually, it's some very relatable members of the public who will put the Chasers through their paces.

The official synopsis for the episode says: "Bradley Walsh presents as contestants Paul, Josie, OJ and Barry pit their wits against ruthless quiz genius the Chaser in the hope of winning a potential prize pot worth thousands of pounds.

"They work as a team and play strategically to answer general knowledge questions against the clock and race down the game board to the exit without being caught."

Sounds like a classic episode to us!

An amusing clip for the episode shows that one contestant is hoping to win enough money to buy a racehorse and name it after a certain Mr Walsh.

It won't be the only place to catch Bradley Walsh on New Year's Day as he also makes a return as TARDIS crew member Graham O'Brien in the New Year special for iconic BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who.

The new episode is the first instalment of two-part adventure Spyfall.

Hopefully, the new contestants on The Chase are as multi-talented as Jodie Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor.

The Chase returns on ITV at 5pm on New Year's Day 2020.
