The Chase contestant taken aback as Anne Hegerty snaps at Bradley Walsh

The Chase became a little awkward today as Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty had a very terse response to host Bradley Walsh's questions.

Nicola, a museum assistant from Norfolk, was playing Anne when one of her questions sparked further queries from Bradley.

This led to an exasperated Anne replying very frankly to the host, leaving the contestant stunned.

She was asked: "Known as LLAMA, what is the Large Latin American Millimeter Array?"

Nicola correctly chose "telescope" as the answer out of satellite and space shuttle.

"Very funny South American acronym," Anne remarked.

Bradley then asked: "Is it Astrology or Astronomy?"

"Astronomy," Anne replied firmly. "Astrology is the one that appears in the papers."

"Ah, so it's Astronomy. I always get those two mixed up," Bradely said.

"Astronomy is the real one," Anne reiterated.

Nicola winced and said: "Ooo, that told you."

Bradely shook his head and sighed: "Yeah..."
