The Chase contestant hailed 'future chaser' by viewers after epic battle against Anne Hegerty

Up first was mental health worker Lynne.

Lynne planned to use her prize money for a Transatlantic cruise - but if she wanted to sail the seas, she would have to defeat The Governess Anne Hegerty.

However, no one expected what happened next.

In the cash builder round, Lynne answered 10 questions out of 11 correctly, scoring £10,000.

As she was the first player, she opted in the head to head to stick with her £10k despite being offered £40,000.

However, Lynne could have taken the higher offer as she answered questions with ease.

This prompted fans to claim Lynne should be a future Chaser.

Josh tweeted: "Future chaser right there. Very intelligent woman."

Neil said: "Lynne will be sitting in the chasers chair by the end of the show!"

A third wrote: "Ooh Lynne knows her stuff. She could’ve gone for the 40k and took on the final chase on her own and win I reckon."

Jon added: "Doesn’t matter about the rest of them, Lynne could defeat the Chaser on her own in the final!"

Marian said: "Lynne a new chaser? Damn she's f****** brainy."

Georgia tweeted: "We’ve got a new chaser here I think."

And Mace said: "Lynne could be a chaser."
