The Chase contestant clashes with Mark Labbett over higher offer - "Should've done better!"

The Chase's Mark Labbett was left stunned after a contestant clashed with him over the higher offer.

Four new contestants were welcomed to the ITV show, in a bid to take on the Chaser and win some cash.

Eddie, Helen, Tom and Elizabeth all took it in turns to face the cash builder, before going head-to-head with The Beast.

First up was Eddie, who stunned host Bradley Walsh after revealing that he used to be a submarine operative and once spent three months living below the surface during the Falklands War.

He answered five questions correct in the cash builder, securing himself a solid £5,000.

But when The Chaser laid out the higher and lower offers, Eddie wasn't impressed.

Mark offered him a higher offer of £22,000, but Eddie opted to play it safe and stick with the £5,000.

Eddie said: "I thought the high offer would have been at least £30,000."

"You should have done better then," Mark quipped.

Unfortunately, Eddie was eliminated by the Beast and went home empty handed.

Viewers took to Twitter after the defeat, with one saying: "Should have got through Eddie."

Another added: "Such a shame I liked Eddie."

"I liked Eddie," wrote another.

While a fourth added: "Sad times for Eddie."

The Chase continues weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
