The Chase Chaser Anne Hegerty labels Alison Hammond 'mad' for brave move

Chaser Anne Hegerty told This Morning star Alison Hammond she was "quite mad" for her brave move on a celebrity version of the Chase.

TV star Alison chatted to host Bradley Walsh, before she took on Anne in tonight's repeat.

Alison said she never expected to last more than two months on This Morning after being on Big Brother, but years later she was thrilled to still be working for the daytime show.

Alison only managed to score £2,000 in her cash builder and her teammates told her to take the middle offer and not the high offer of £54,000.

But Alison told Anne: "I feel you've met your match babes, I live by the sword and I die by the sword, £54,000."

Anne told her: "You're quite mad."

Sadly Alison proved no match for Anne, as she came unstuck on a question about the Titantic sinking in 1912.

Alison's teammates were angry they didn't listen to their advice, but Anne respected Alison's decision.

Anne said: "I really do respect that you went high, it was very brave."

And viewers were proud of Alison for going high, even if it didn't pay off.

Keven Law said: "Alison is going for the 54K...Gwan that girl"

Adam said: "You tried Alison."

And Teena Massam said: "I love Alison, she’s one of my favourite people."

*The Chase continues at 5pm on ITV on Monday
