The Chase's Mark Labbett left host Bradley Walsh stunned last night after his brutal swipe at a family.
During a spin-off version of the popular ITV quiz show, a family of contestants from Leyland, comprised of dad Andrew, daughters Emily and Hollie and their aunt, prepared to take on Mark, 'The Beast', Labbett.
Both Emily and Hollie opted for the chaser's middle offer despite scoring low on their cashbuilder, and as a result were booted out, the Mirror Online reports.
The aunt also followed suit and tried to make it to the final chase with the money she had earned, but unlike the daughters managed to get through.
Dad Andrew went on to win £2,000 in his own cashbuilder.
Mark then gave him the opportunity of either going for what he had achieved, a "generous" lower option of £1,000 and a tempting higher option of £56,000.
Andrew replied: "I know I'm going to be hated by the two who aren't here but I'm going to go for £1,000 and try to get back."
Bradley responded: "Mathematically, that was the right thing to do."
Mark exclaimed: "At last, one of you is thinking sensibly!
"Just about every one of you should have gone low or gone high! Because let's face it, none of you have scored very well."
Andrew exclaimed: "Ooh, hello!"
Bradley added: "Ooh..."
Some Twitter users agreed with The Beast's savage takdown.
One fan wrote: "It might have been brutal but @MarkLabbett ain't wrong at all Andrew has done the right thing of the cash builders its been 2,4,4,2 #TheChase."
However, another added: "Why is Mark Labbett such a ****** #TheChase #TheChaseFamily."
