The chart which shows just how inconsistent Nottingham Forest have been this season

Nottingham Forest have been steady chasers of a top six finish, with a play-off place still a possibility for Martin O’Neill’s men.

They have sat just outside the play-off places for much of the season, but will be looking to make a late push for promotion in the final eight games of the season.

In those eight games, Forest play three teams above them in the league, representing a big chance to take points which could be vital for the run-in.

Forest need to win most of their games if they want to be in with a chance of making the play-offs, but they haven't won back to back games this season since September, which shows the inconsistency of the past six months.

Losing games hasn’t been their biggest issue this season. Having just lost ten games, they have the best record outside the top six in that respect.

Where they must improve is turning draws into wins. Fifteen draws this season is the joint second highest in the Championship.

This chart shows the up and down season Forest have had.

This chart shows the fluctuation of league positions of teams around Forest who are all in contention of a play-off place.
