The Chargers signed a D-liner named Dee Liner

This is not a drill or some fake April Fools’ Day prank.

There is actually a professional football player named Dee Liner. And he’s actually a defensive lineman. A D-liner named Dee Liner!!!

The Los Angeles Chargers announced on Thursday that they had signed Liner, who “spent part of 2018 with the Kansas Chiefs before signing with the Tennessee Titans for the early part of 2019” after he played for Alabama and Arkansas State in his college career, per a release.

How did we not know about this? It’s so perfect. And, of course, everyone on Twitter noticed this coincidence and made jokes:

Too good. Per a story in The Tennessean earlier this year, his name and position comes up a lot:

“I get (questions) every day. Every day,” Liner said with a smile on Wednesday in Madison on a stop on the Titans Caravan tour. “I play D-line and my name is Dee Liner.”
