In a summer which saw Arsenal smash their transfer record to sign Nicolas Pepe, it's another forward who has been arguably been the club's standout player this season.
Not many were aware of Gabriel Martinelli when the 2018/2019 campaign ended, but there's every chance he could finish the 2019/2020 campaign as the Gunners' Young Player of the Year.
The Brazilian wonderkid became Arsenal’s first summer signing when he completed a £6m transfer in early July.
Head of international recruitment Francis Cagigao and Technical Director Edu are understood to have been the key figures in brokering a deal to bring Martinelli to north London from Ituano.
It was thought that the youngster would be eased into action, but he's been part of the first-team since day one and has certainly benefited from the departure of Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Having netted against Chelsea on Tuesday night, Martinelli now has 10 goals across all competitions for the Gunners which has prompted shock links to Premier League rivals Liverpool.
Fans will no doubt be hopeful that the club can tie the teenager down to a new contract in the coming months, but comments from Brazilian football expert Phil Vickery explains a change in transfer policy at the Emirates Stadium.
"The way the market is going, the European clubs are looking not so much for established stars, they're looking for the likes of Martinelli," he said on Sky Sports. ''The Arsenal scouting unit are looking for players in Brazil who are by no means household names in their own home at the moment.
''Martinelli's already scored with Arsenal as many senior goals as he scored in Brazil, playing mostly regional football in Sao Paulo''.
The idea of finding the next Martinelli is a prospect likely to appeal to Arsenal legend Martin Keown after he said the youngster is the future of the club.
"The Martinelli goal, that encapsulates the newfound spirit that is among Arsenal. That young man, honestly, he has the club in the palm of his hands,” he told BT Sport.
"He can take it wherever he wants to.
"He was everywhere tonight, the youngest player on the pitch and he’s showing the way for all the other senior players.
"It’s really encouraging watching it.
"I was here in 1999 where Nwankwo Kanu scored three goals to get Arsenal back into to win a game that they never should have won and that looked dead and buried where they were down to 10 men, somehow they found a way to get back into it.”
