Steve Cooper believes Jordon Garrick will be a better person following his spell on the sidelines due to suspension.
The winger received a straight red card late on in the 1-0 loss to Luton Town after appearing to throw a punch during a melee between both sets of players.
As a result, he was slapped with a three-game ban, meaning he missed the draw with Millwall along with the wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham City.
He is available for selection to face Leeds United on Sunday, which comes as a timely boost to Swansea's play-off hopes.
And Cooper says Garrick must now react in a positive manner as Swansea go in search of a top six spot in the Championship.
"Initially, he was clearly down because he knew he'd done wrong. He felt that," explained Cooper.
"He made a mistake, but I judge mistakes by reactions, I think that's what you have to do with young players, especially when they're out of line.
“His reaction was full of remorse. He was apologetic, and he knew straight away from the moment we got back into the dressing room that what he did let everyone down. We talked through it, learned from it, and if it happens again it's a problem, but hopefully it won't.
"Hopefully, he’ll be a better person for the experience.”
Cooper handed Garrick his senior bow in the Carabao Cup win over Northampton Town in August while he made his league debut at Queens Park Rangers in the same month.
Garrick has scored three goals in his 13 senior appearances in all competitions for the Swans, although his progress this term has been hampered by two separate hamstring injuries.
