Bosses from all 24 Championship clubs, including Nottingham Forest, have share a video conference call this afternoon and are unanimous in their support of the Football League's plan to finish the season, say BBC reports.
The league campaign is currently on pause in an attempt to slow the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to a manageable level for health services, with nine games left to play.
Leeds United and West Brom are united in their fears that, should the season be scrapped, they could be robbed of what now looks a certain promotion to the Premier League.
Sabri Lamouchi's Forest also remain in the promotion race and are hopeful that the season will, eventually, be concluded.
It is understood that members from the top six clubs met on Monday and were unanimous in their desire to see the season played out before the 2020-21 campaign can begin - and reports have now suggested that the rest of the Championship has joined them in their stand.
Forest fans were happy to learn that this summer's European Championships has been postponed until 2021, paving the way for the club football to be played throughout the summer.
Football remains unlikely to return by the April 3 date set by the FA and the Football League last week but UEFA's decision would allow the the start of next season to be pushed back until September or October of 2020, allowing a greater window for this term's final nine games to be played.
